`Three piece fly rods have everything going for them; they can be hidden away from prying eyes, pose no porblems when flying, and the extra ferrule does nothing to spoil the action - if the rod is carefully designed and well made. Such a rod is the Carbotec 9.5 footer rated for AFTM 7 lines. Built on a low resin, high-modulus carbon blank, the middle-to-tip action rod is capable of effortlessly long casts. There are three other rods in the three piece range: 9.5 and 10 footers for AFTM 6 lines, and a 10 foot rod for an AFTM 7 line.
The rod carries a chrome and wood reel seat, a lined butt ring and wide, hard-chrome snake intermediate rings for easy line shooting. A deluxe version has titanium gold snake rings and an up-rated reel seating.'
A nice optional extra is the butt extension which can be particularly useful when playing larger fish.
